How can I disconnect a Robohelp project from a Framemaker document after import?

Hello,

I am attempting to move a project out of FrameMaker and into Robohelp for good. I will no longer be providing printed documentation for this resource so I'd like to manage the content (edit, update, etc.) entirely inside of Robohelp.

To prevent the risk of updating the linked files and losing any edits that were performed in Robohelp, I'd like to somehow break the link bewteen the Robohelp project and the FrameMaker document so that I can work with the content the same as if it had originated in Robohelp.

Hi,

I guess you mean how to unlink a FM while while retaining the topics.

After importing, the link with FM is lost. Am I correct in this assumption?

As far as I know, you can only unlink whilst keeping data by modifying

the project files. So first make a backup before attempting this.

1. Make a backup.

2. Trash the CPD.

4. Open rhframedocs.apj in a text editor.

5. Remove all tags fm_doc that hold links to the documents you want to

make RH exclusive. (Keep the __GLOBAL__ file as that holds conversion

settings if I'm not mistaken.)

6. Save the file.

8. Open your RoboHelp project.

Kind regards,

Willam

Thanks a bunch, as always, William. Yes, that's exactly what I am trying to do. I will try it next week and report back.
