Check the image color mode and bit depth.

PNG suports RGB, Bitmap, and Grayscale in 8 and 16 bit/channel only.

Are you on MAC? There is at least one other person having a similar problem. Check this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6028721

Hello, Could you please all of you (Kroomart, Moonchiled and Jonathan) post the contents of Help>system info?

Do you have a third party png plug-in? Is generator off or on?

Do you run Ps in a localized version/OS?

Does clearing the preferences help? ( see the follwing video: )

I have the same problem. On PC (Win8) and suddenly I can't open PNG files, or save to PNG format. RGB 8bit or 16, no matter what, no PNG. Moved the .psp file for Photoshop to recreate one, didn't help either.

Please help, this is driving me up the walls.

Have you tried reseting the preferences, as suggested in post #6?

Hello,

I would like to tell you that i have resolved the problem. I tryed everything but "desinstall and re-install" PS cc is the only thing witch works.

I had this problem for couple of week and now it's ok. It was hard to work without PNG savings..

Good luck to everybody and still, sorry for my awfull english !

Have a good day.

Nope it didn't work. That's what I meant by moving the .psp file, so clearly you didn't watch the video.

I'll have to try kroomart's suggestion and reinstall Ps CC. Hope it works for me too.

Seems like reinstalling did help. Thanks, kroomart.

Just wish there was a work-around to the problem without having to reinstall.
