Workspace not logging in using IE8 and Windows 7

Hello,

Windows 7

Flash Player 12

Adobe reader 9

IE 8.0.76

Workspace 9

I cannot log into Workspace. When I fill in username/passord and enter I get the following error "A communication error occurred during the operation: null"

I can log in to workspace using Google Chrome (although when I start a process I am asked to install adobe Reader - why should I have to if I already installed Reader?).

Looking at the Adobe requirements page for workspace seems to suggest that IE 8 should work.

Any help appreciated...
