Hi guys

Just wondering why is it not possible to add a module (such as an image gallery or media downloads) to a product description area?

Hey studiomigo,

It is possible to use modules in the product description. It's true that no toolbox is available when viewing the product description, however just place the appropriate module tag into the layout and it should render when viewing the product on the front end. The module tags can be found in the following article: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/134/bc_1345.html. Thanks.

I guess I should have tried this before posting. So it's just a BC user interface problem I guess.

Cheers

Module toolbox on product pages would be a great update if BC can add it onto the development roadmap.

Not really Fubals, They could do with putting this way off a beaten track.

Those content areas are for content, the more you set up well your layouts and templates and keep modules etc out of those content areas the better, the easier it is for clients ot manage their content and also not easily destory layouts. Pressing delete on some paragraphs and accidentally deleting a module or removing a div wrapping a module with certain class etc.

I and Pretty do complex site layotus and designs and features and avoid doing this so this certanly does not limit what you want to do.
