Select movie from camera roll

My mobile app is stuck.  I need to know if we're ever going to be able to select a video from the camera roll for iOS and Android.  Seems a simple matter but it has languished for over a year on the Adobe feature requests.  ANE's don't work. Lose context and flash the screen.
