Need .pfm files for old purchased Type 1 font

Back in 2003 or 2004, I purchased the Hrabanus Type 1 font from Adobe. I registered the font and have the purchase and serial number in my account (although I don't know which one it was, as I bought a handful of fonts and all the list shows in my account is the date and the serial number, not the name).

This was an early Type 1 font that only gave the .afm file, the .inf file, and the .pfb file.

I've upgraded to Windows 7, and I cannot install this font on my machine. Right-clicking on the .inf file provides an option to install, but nothing happens when I do that.

In my searches online, I've found that in order to install the font in Windows 7, I need the .pfm files (which the old Type 1 fonts used to build at the time they were installed, so they didn't include them).

A discussion in the forum from 2012 indicates that Adobe is committed to supporting these old font purchases, here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1056745

Does anyone know how I go about getting the .pfm files for this purchased/registered font?

Thanks,

Andrew

We'd be glad to get you the .pfm file for the font, if the font was an Adobe font. Are you sure the font name is Hrabanus? Adobe has never licensed any font, whether Type 1 or OpenType with that name or a name similar in any way to that.

Checking on the web, I do find such a font offered by Linotype at <http://www.linotype.com/150436/Hrabanus-family.html> but only in MacOS Type 1 format (unusable under Windows) and by fonts.com <http://www.fonts.com/font/monotype/hrabanus/regular> in Windows Type 1 format and MacOS Type 1 format.

It is very likely that if you licensed Hrabanus, you licensed if from someplace other than Adobe.

Sorry, but we cannot help you with this.
