Hey guys and gals!
so this has been bugging me forever now. I work as a graphic desing student and use programs like illustrator and photoshop daily. I also have to use a drawing tablet. Well recently I built a new computer and am currently rebuilding
Anyways, so I went to use the install CD for my tablet (Wacom Bamboo tablet thing). This CD includes a version of Adobe AIR. the CD is able to install the tablet drivers, but fails on the adobe AIR instalation. It simply says "Adobe Air Installer: Installation Faild". So I thought it was because I had a old version of Air already installed (3.4??) So I uninstalled it and still got the same error. I then went to adobe to get the most up to date version. I then ran the installer from adobe. I ran the program as the administrator and got this error message "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
I have searched all over the net and can not find a fix. I am 90% sure that all forms of the AIR runtime is gone as I can not find a single trace. All that I have left of adobe is Flash plugin, illustrator, and photoshop.
If ANYONE has any insight, I very much need it as I can not get anything school related done with out my tablet working.
Thanks
~Mach

Im haveing the same issue... and CC has also quit working... everything was fine until release 13.0 of Air came out... when I tried to upgrade it just keeps poping up window after window with the same error message as you have..... an Adobe has no Idea what to do... I sure wish they would test this stuff better before they just through it out to us................

I am also having a problem and get the same error. I can neither uninstall or reinstall Adobe Air so I can't use a couple of apps (like Shutterfly Express Uploader). I am running windows 8.1 and have tried uninstalling and installing on both my personal login as well as on the admin login and always get the same error. The log file says it fails on an MSI task. Following is the info from the log file:
