Fullscreen problem!

Mar 13, 2008 2:52 PM

I can't get fullscreen to work on Hulu.com's Adobe Flash Player 9.

In both IE and Firefox I get this when I go full-screen (regardless of standard res or 420p)

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/2200/fullscreenii9.jpg

I have the latest ATI drivers (8.3, running on HD 2900 Pro) and Vista. Does anyone know of a solution to this?

I really want to use fullscreen for watching shows/movies with this player, and have had no problem with other players such as DivX.

I seem to be having the same issue there.
    Maybe it is the site?

    Hello,

is it normal that flash player updates automatically? I have the fullscreen problem too, and never wanted Adobe Flash Player allow to perform an autoupdate, but it obviously did it anyway :(

It doesn't work for me either. Does it work for anyone else? It must, otherwise why would they put it onto the site.

Well I guess not all Video cards, but "only" ATI are affected, that's what I read in another forum at least. Can somebody confirm this? And is Adobe working on fixing this issue asap?

I had this same problem but i got it working in full screen by right clicking going into settings and disabling hardware acceleration.

I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 and Flash Player 9.0.115.0 with ATI HD2600 with 8.3 Catalyst Drivers

Divx and flash don't use the same decoding I guess hence the difference. Anyway, maybe they have protected the content to be displayed in full screen or maybe their internet connection have limited your ip range. There are just so many other possibilities here.

I've downloaded the latest drivers for my computer.
I really want to use fullscreen for watching youtube shows/movies with this player, and have had no problem with other players such as DivX.

I'm doing something wrong. Have been clicking on settings, but get a box regarding microphone. How do I disable hardware acceleration? How do I get to the prompt for "disabling hardware acceleration? I use IE 7, Windows XP. Thanks.

I have the same issue but not with full screen I get the blank screen but can hear the sound just fine on my larger player that is 928x522. doesn't happen every time just after a few refreshes and sometimes the very first time. I have posted several bug reports on adobe and flex sites and still haven't found a work around hope they fix this soon.

wow this dates back to 2008!!! and has no solution. well in 2008 my full screen worked great with hulu it wasn't till the update to adobe 10 that my full screen was destroyed. audio track is fine but the player skips a frame every few seconds and makes the image unbarable, it feels like I might get a seizure from the flashes. Maybe that would get adobe to fix the problem?

I can't beleive this is such an old problem and still eveybody uses this crap! It is now 2011 and the lagging is still an issue. I've tried all solutions available but still lagging fullscreen flash video. What is going on in the flashplayer when you hit the fullscreen btn? I can set the screen resolution so low that the "normal" video frame in eg youtube fills the entire screen with smooth motion video but the second i hit the fullscreen btn the lagging begins.

If you right click on a flash movie and go to settings and unclick, full screen will worik. But..again...what are the downsides of doing this????
