Hi,
I've experienced the same problem, and it's my belief that
it's down to errors in unpacking the installation files to a temp
directory and the message is just unhelpful. I consistantly get it
when trying to install from the install file stored on a fat32 usb
stick, copying the file from there to the local drive does not help
either. However, copying the file from from it's original download
location via a network share to the local drive and running it from
there did result in a success for me.
Totally unscientifically and unproven, I'd try avoiding fat
filesystems, download or copy the installer to your local drive,
and make sure you have *plenty* of spare space in your temp
directory. I suspect somehow my file got corrupted slightly, but
can't really tell, I've had similar problems before with recent
adobe installers. a checksum would be handy, if you guys at adobe
are reading!
Sorry I can't be more definitive, but hope that helps you.
Bear in mind I may be wrong.
Jim.
