If you just installed XP with Service Pack 3, you might want to doublecheck your browser's current Player here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
Internet Explorer will use the ActiveX version, other browsers use Netscape Plugins... may need to do two installs.

If you need it, consumer, debugger, and preview Players here:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp9
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/

Try hitting Refresh and see if it loads up. That seems to be working this time in some cases.

    To folks:
If you are not able to see the site, please try:

    1. Click in the black area. What happens?
    2. Clear cache and refresh the browser. This seems to work in some cases.
    3. Can you view the site using another browser? If so, which one?

If you still can't view, help us troubleshoot by:
    1. What OS and browser(s) are you using?
    2. Doublecheck your version of Flash Player here What version are you running?
    3. Screen captures are great. What happens when you right click in the black area? Do you get a menu or error message (please describe). “Allow blocked content” message" on IE? Other warning messages, pop-up windows, etc. Any extra info is helpful!

Thanks for your help tracking this down.

Rob_QVC: Please check the IE7 status bar and see if Protected Mode is on (lower right corner). If so, try this:

    1. Open IE 7, Click Tools > Internet Options
    2. Select Security tab
    3. Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode
    4. Restart IE7.

    Let us know what happens!

Hello Rob_QVC: I'm interning with the Kuler team and willl try to help you with the black screen problem. I understand that you have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player using a standalone uninstaller. (if not please try this). If you provide me with the following information I'll help you track this down -

    1. Click in the black area. What happens?
    2. Clear cache and refresh the browser. This seems to work in some cases.
    3. Can you view the site using another browser? If so, which one?

If you still can't view, help us troubleshoot by:
    1. What OS and browser(s) are you using? (Rob_QVC - I know you're using Windows XP, SP2, IE7)

    Thanks

How about your security setting in your IE 7? Check Tools ->Internet Option -> security and set security level to midium high.

I'll follow up with QE again and see if they can reproduce. In the meantime, does Firefox work for you?

    FF3
    IE7
    Flash 9,0,124,0
Black box; logo, navigation and copyright at bottom functional
    Right click = Settings...
    About Adobe Flash Player 9...

    BUT

I opened kuler AIR and I got kuler to launch correctly from that internal link.

I'm having problems loading the Kuler site, It worked for me before, but now I get a black screen. I'm using FF3, latest Flash player (unisntalled the old flash using the Flash uninstaller and installed the latest version), and running in XP SP3. I also tried it using Safari for Windows, still can't get it to run. Kuler desktop is also problematic, I'm getting this message all the time "kuler kutoff! Your session has timed out, Please sign in again".

    Any update on this problem?

I tried loading it again before sending this message and it worked...I closed it to test if the problem is solved (which i don't know how), unfortunately I got a black screen again.

    1. What OS and browser(s) version(s) are not working?
Mac OSX 10.5.5; latest versions of Safari and Firefox both are not working.
    2. Did you do a manual uninstallation by downloading and running the standalone Flash Player uninstaller from Adobe?
    Yes
    3. Has the site ever worked for you on these browsers?
    Yes, in previous operating systems
    4. Any other clues to help us track this down?
We recently spent a small fortune upgrading all of our machines to Leopard and CS3.

Hello, that is very strange. Is this still happening? (FYI, if you have Illustrator CS3, you can also access Kuler themes through the Kuler panel Windows > Adobe Labs > Kuler. If it's still happening I'lll log a bug. Can you confirm what version of Flash Player you reinstalled?

I just tried kuler again today and it was a blank center - it was stuck loading from farm4. So I opened kuler AIR and logged in. Then I clicked the hotlink to kuler from there and the page loaded.

    Same trick still works.

Hi Rob_QVC and MBKrebs, specifically what happens when you use the Kuler panel in Illustrator CS3? Does it time out? What exactly happens? More detail helps QE...

Helenbn - appreciate you keeping us posted on the workaround. I'm logging a bug with QE, that's very odd.

When I select the Kuler panel in Illustrator CS3, the tab appears, but the panel remains blank (I guess you could say it times out, but nothing ever really happens to time out from...)

We are working on some performance improvements that might help the Illustrator panel to return some results.

As for the black screen, I need to file a bug for that - both Mac/Win.

In regards to the black screen of death,

I have a PC with XP as my operating system. When I went to the Kuler site with Firefox I got a black screen, even after I installed the newest version of the Adobe Flash Player. When I visited the site using Internet Explorer, after I installed the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player (the one offered on the Internet Explorer page) Kuler all of a sudden loaded correctly. For some reason I am only able to use Kuler when using Internet Explorer. I still can't access the page with Firefox.

Hi, I'm filing a bug now for the FF 3/Win XP problem. Thanks for your patience, glad you have an IE workaround for now.
    Sami

ADDED: Flash Player version 10.0.12.36 is now the latest version. Is that what you are running? Please clarify. Thx.

    Hi Folks,
I was also getting that problem long time and I was looking for solution on this forum so long. now I've got problem solved.
The cause of that problem is that we have 'Adblock' plugin installed on our browsers.
Simply disable that plugin from Tool>Add-ons>Extensions (temporary disable from Adblock menu doesn't work) and restart browser.

    I love adobe kuler.

I hope everything should be fine and this long time unsolved topic could be closed :)

I was having the same trouble with Firefox 3.0.3, then again after upgrading to 3.0.5. Kuler worked fine in IE7, but no matter what I did (updating Flash, etc.), I was still getting the black screen.

Thanks to wbthomps, disabling adblock did the trick! Kuler now works in Firefox again for me. For everyone else still having troubles with FF, if adblock isn't the problem, maybe there are other extensions interfering?

    Thanks again!
