Dreamweaver cs3 error on file open

Nov 3, 2008 6:58 AM

Suddenly getting an error when I open a file:
error signature:
AppName: dreamweaver.exe
AppVer: 9.0.0.3481
ModName: dreamweaver.exe
ModVer: 9.0.0.3481
Offset: 002dab57

Any body know what this is? Was working fine on friday, no changes to extensions or updates, came in this morning, and the error started.

Has to do with time change

    Try this:
    1. Closing Dreamweaver

    2. Set your clock to the correct time if it isn't already so

    3. delete WinFileCache*.dat from

    C:\Documents and Settings\[Your username]\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver
    9\Configuration

    4. Start Dreamweaver and use it as usually

I was having a problem doing any editing on certain files and could not figure it out whatsoever. I happened to come upon this answer, although I could open the file, but could not edit it. So, I followed these instructions, and thank goodness, it worked. Is there an update or fix to this because if I do not purchase the most current CS package, I will have to remember to do this every time change. I am happy it only took 2 hours out of my day, considering that I could have been knocking my head against the wall for days. Was going to download back up files and everything thinking they were corrupt or start typing code - these were rather large CF files.
