Stratus is a hosted RTMFP rendezvous service. Stratus will be
available for developers to use by the end of the year. For more
information, please see the
Stratus
FAQ.
Visited a little while ago, and "Stratus will not support
shared objects" is very different than, "RTMFP has full support for
all the Flash Media Server functionality currently found in RTMP,
including live streaming, recording and playback, shared objects,
and remote function calls." You know which it will be for
sure?
RTMFP is a new network protocol. Stratus is a hosted service
that enables peer-to-peer fuctionality for RTMFP-speaking clients.
A new version of FMS supporting RTMFP will also enable peer-to-peer
functionality *and* all FMS features that work with the older RTMP
(like shared objects)... But the Stratus service doesn't do any of
that other FMS stuff.
Good Day. I am having a hard time building the VideoPhone
sample application. What do you mean by: Specify the URL of your
web service in WebServiceUrl constant in VideoPhoneLabs.mxml. Do I
have to create a web service? It would help a lot if I could get
this project to work. Thanks
