How do I crop the white border around the image?
You mean remove the white background?
Yes, I want to remove the white background.
One way would be to select the white with the magic wand tool, select inverse, right click inside the selection and choose Layer via Copy.
Then go to Enhance>Adjust color>Defringe Layer with a setting of 1 pixel.
I followed your instructions, but when I place the image into another photo, I still get the white rectangle around the image.
You can use the magic eraser tool to make the white transparent.
You would have to either delete the background layer and save as a psd,png or tiff (formats that support transparency)
or turn off the visibily of the background layer and use File>Save for Web and choose png-24 with the Transparency box checked.
Used magic eraser to make background transparent. Saved file as a TIFF and it stayed transparent when inserted into the other photo. Thanks a bunch!!!
