Greetings,
My client owns a .net and a .com, the .net is associated with his branding and he considers it his primary site. I've associated it with BC using A-Records (the domain is hosted externally). What is the best practice for pointing the .com without getting Google slapped?
www.theturquoiseroom.net (works)
www.theturquoiseroom.com (shows "under maintenance")
Thanks!
Brian
Brian, I am not an expert in SEO, but what i think you should do is have the .com do a 301 redirect to the .net site.
You can have BC do this for you from /adminconsole --->Site Settings --->Site Domains. The click the "New Forward" button at the top of your page. This should allow you to redirect one domain to another.
This should work regardless of if you are using BC dns or external dns. As long as both domains A records are pointed at BC, the domain forwarding should work.
I am also trying to point a .com and .net domain to my primary domain website .org. I am confused as to how this form is supposed to work. When I enter my domain leadliberia.com in first field, I end up with leadliberia.com.leadliberia.org being fowarded to www.leadliberia.org. Wouldn't it simply be leadliberia.com forwarded to www.leadliberia.org?
