Acrobat Pro crashes after 5 seconds

Hi there!

I did not find an answer in the forum. So hopefully you can help me.

My fresh installation of Acrobat Pro - installed via Creative Cloud Application Manager - crashes after 5 or so seconds opening the Adobe Application Manager for 2 seconds. No difference when just openeing the application or any pdf-file. There is no error message.

Before the installation I have used a CS5.5 Design Premium Trial for a couple of days. I Uninstalled everything before installing CS6 (Creative Cloud). Before that I had CS 5.5 Design Standard running without any problems for about 8 Months.

All the other Applications are working fine.

I`m using Adobe CS6 on a Mac running Lion with the latest updates (10.7.4). There are (not yet) any extraordinary fonts installed.

Does ist have anything to do with an update of Acrobat making problems?

Thank you for your help!

Timo

I see and what steps did you perform to uninstall Adobe Acrobat?   Also so I don't repeat steps you have already performed what have you attempted to resolve your difficulties.

It may but it is still difficult to be certain with the information currently available.  To give you the best opportunity for a successful installation I would recommend the following:

    1. Remove all Adobe Creative Software using the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
    2. Run the CS Cleaner tool - CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation -problems.html
    3. Reboot in a Root user account in Safe Boot - Let me know if you need more information for this and I can locate a couple links from Apple's website
    4. Reinstall Adobe Acrobat

Some of these steps admittedly may not be needed such as root user and safe boot.  But completing all of these steps will give you the highest likelyhood of succeeding with your installation.
