Dreamweaver cs6 doesn't start

hi,

 

after installing dreamweaver cs6 form creative cloud test version i tried to start the programm.

After a few seconds and a bumping icon in the dock (no splash screen), the icon disappered. and that was all. no dreamweaver.

 

I already re-installed it. No change.

 

 

Here some more information:

 

MacBook Pro,  Mac OS X 10.7.4

Dreamweaver CS6 is not installed on the system disk, but on a second harddrive.

Flash CS6 is installed on this second harddrive too and it works. Dreamweaver does not.

 

Adobe Web Premium CS5.5  is installed on system disk and it works.

 

 

What is wrong with dreamweaver cs6 here?

    Well, dreamweaver should also work. However, try uninstalling it first and then try to reinstall it via Adobe Application Manager.

     

    you can remove the dreamweaver from here: "/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/..."

    That was the first thing i tried :-)

    Uninstall and reinstall.

    but it didn't work.

    Okay. It may be due to multiple drive problems and files sync problem. If possible, can you try out installing on the system drive. If not, then i will let someone from this team to help you out.

    You can try downloading from www.adobe.com/go/trydreamweaver/ and install that.

    Same problem on system drive. Icon bumping, no splashscreen, then icon disappears. dreamweaver does not start.

    Same problem. Uninstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed. Tried this again by uninstalling, downloading Dreamweaver CS6 alone and re-installing.  Dreamweaver CS6 still does not launch.

     

    Also installed Adobe Support Advisor, which says:

    "Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance."

     

    • iMac 2.93GHz Intel Core i7 - OS X 10.6.8
    • CS6 Design & Web Premium installed in Applications folder on system drive
    • No other applications running
    • Drive permissions verified & repaired

     

    Click on Dreamweaver icon to launch and it begins the normal bouncing, but simply disappears after a few seconds.

    You can try launching after temporarily enabling root user on your machine. You can find steps to enable root user here:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528

     

    OR

     

    You can simply launch Dreamweaver CS6 via root user instead of double clicking it:

    Just open Terminal and type

    sudo <PathToDreamweaver>/Contents/MacOS/<Dreamweaver>

     

    This will resolve your problem if it is due to any incorrect permissions.

    Launched it out of Terminal and got the following text:

    ...at which point the Dreamweaver icon disappeared again.  Repeated the launch through Terminal and it stayed open.

     

    After this I quit out of Dreamweaver and tried to launch with the standard method of clicking the app icon in Applications, but it would not launch.

     

    EDIT: checked FontBook for font conflicts, of which there were none.  Lucida Grande also validated fine.

    root user enabled. but dreamweaver did not open.

    Root user also enabled here, but Dreamweaver would not open by clicking.  The method through Terminal did work, however.

    next test: logged out my normal administrator account. logged in as root (new user). tried to start dreamweaver. dreamweaver started as it should. great!

    BUT: logged out as root user. logged in my normal account. same behavior as before. dreamweaver would not start.

     

    please help, adobe!

    I am having the same issue.  I was able to start DW in a terminal shell using the sudo command stated above.  I got the following lines after it started:

     

    2012-05-17 06:29:21.649 Dreamweaver[10927:9403] AdobeCrashReporterInitialize: Couldn't find the AdobeCrashDaemon.app folder

    2012-05-17 06:29:24.268 Dreamweaver[10927:9403] CFURLCreateWithString was passed this invalid URL string: '/System/Library/Frameworks/' (a file system path instead of an URL string). The URL created will not work with most file URL functions. CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPath or CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPathRelativeToBase should be used instead.

     

    When I quit I got the same message as cueballjh with respect to LucidaGrande:

    My installation was I started with CS5 Master Suite.  I used the Adobe Uninstaller and uninstalled all of CS5 Master Suite.  I then installed Master Suite CS6.  Everything appeared to install correctly.

    I got my installation to work.  I used the Adobe Uninstaller and uninstalled DW.  I then went to disk utility and ran Fix Permissions on the system drive.  I rebooted and then did an install of DW and it worked.  Hope this helps.

    yes. my DW is working now, too.

    like rimcrazyph i ran fix permission after uninstallation DW.

     

    without reboot i installed DW as root-user, instead of normal administrator account.

    now it works.

    Fixed here as well.

     

    Uninstalled, repaired permissions as root user from Terminal, then also ran the installation as root user from Terminal.

     

    DW is now launching fine.  Thanks for all of the help!

    I was having the same problem as you.

    It would run after installing as the root user, but not on my normal login.

     

    So AS ROOT USER: uninstalled it again, fixed permissions, reinstalled.

     

    Then as NORMAL USER it would start as normal.

     

    I'm about to pull my hair out!!!
