I created a path in Illustrator CS5. When I try to copy the path only, and paste it into After Effects CS5 on a new solid layer, I only get the bounding box, not the path. Please give me some suggestions on what I am doing wrong.
Thanks
Thank you, Mylenium. I had previously gone into Preferences, File Handling & Clipboard, and saw that AICB was on. When I tried to change the radio button below AICB to Preserve Paths, my copy worked but the paste did not work in After Effects. Both worked when I changed the radio button to Preserve Appearance and Overprints, both copy and paste worked. Is there another place where I need to enable the AICB? I've done a lot of After Effects editing but not so much Illustrator.
Perhaps try pasting into a shape path. It can be tricky the first time, make sure you twirl down all the way to the path level of the shape layer, click to highlight the path attribute, and Ctrl+V the illustrator path. If it takes, you can continue using the shape layer, or try to re-copy/paste that path back onto your solid to go back to a traditiona AE mask.
