I'm using Adobe Acrobat X.
I am working on putting together parts of a 216 page document. All of the parts are PDF's that I created by scanning a document with an Epson scanner several years ago (long before I had Acrobat.)
Pages 11 through 216 are CCITT G4 encoded text only. Pages 1 through 10 should have been scanned the same way, but I scanned them in grayscale by mistake. I no longer have access to the original document, which consisted of black & white photocopies with only text and a few simple line drawings.
I want to convert the grayscale scanned pages to black & white. After a quick search, I felt the best approach would be the method described at the bottom of this blog:
This is not for printing, though. I want to get the file size smaller.
. . . when I bring the TIFF's back into Acrobat, Preflight always shows them as JBIG2 encoded. What am I doing wrong?
How do I turn the grayscale pages into CCITT G4 encoded black & white pages?
