Shockwave won't play content

May 18, 2012 6:43 AM

I am enrolled in PHYS 102 online and the course requires numerous graded activities at  the following site: http://www.physicslessons.com. The experiments in that website that require shockwave (http://www.physicslessons.com/exp20.htm) are not running for me, but my teacher says he has no issue accessing them. On my end, the adobe website says that shockwave is installed correctly and I have no problem accessing shockwave content in other websites. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Computer: HP Pavilion g7

OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)

Browser: Firefox 12.0 (Also tried IE 9 64 bit with no luck)

Shockwave ver.: 11.6.5r635

Thanks in advance.

It appears that the site uses SW10, or at least doesn't specifically require SW11+. It's unlikely that this backward compatibility layer works with a 64 bit OS

Shockwave Player is a 32-bit plugin, so it will not work on a 64-bit browser.

    Tested: IE9 32-bit: works fine.

Tested: Firefox 12: does not load.

You will have to use the 32-bit edition of IE9 on Windows 7.
