Dynamic Content

Hi,

 

I'm looking for any information people can give me about Dynamic Content in both Illustrator and InDesign.

 

I need a document that automatically updates when a linked document is changed.  I've had limited success with InDesign, but Illustrator was very unsucessful.

 

In Illustrator I have been able to create a Variable Library, but when I come to reload it, all but one set of information vanishes.
