Text on Path

Where is the attach to path( text around a circle) tool in AI CS5.

Freehand 8 has this feature.

    This is the wrong forum for this post. This forum is for feature requests. Your question would get answered faster if you post it in the regular Adobe Illustrator forum.

    But to answer your question. You can't attach text which is already created to a path like you can in Corel DRAW and Freehand. In Illustrator, you need to select your path first.

    Then get the Type on a Path Tool. It's nested under the Type Tool button. With that tool, hover over your circle or path and then type in new text.

    If you already created your text and set colors and effects, then you can just copy that text and paste it onto the path.
