MetaData questions

May 24, 2012 4:29 PM

1.) I took a whole bunch of videos with a new 5DM3 and am accessing them through CS5.5. When I click on the .MOV files there is no info displaying in the MetaData panel. Is there someway to see the ISO, Apperture, etc. for the video files?

2.) I also notice in MetaData a section called "Subject Distance" is this really a measurement of how far away the subject was from the lens when the photo was taken? If so, how accurate is it?

Thanks.

Two things influendce this.  What does the camera record for metadata and what do you have set to display in the metadata pannel.

Since you have looked at the video metadata you see it is rather limited.  Frame rate, size, etc.   And of course this means you camera has to record and send out this info. as metadata.

So you are stuck with that info.  Photos have different metadata fields.
