Before I read the FAQ on how to properly uninstall the Photoshop CS6 Beta, I uninstalled it manually (by dragging it into the Trash on Mac OS X), and now when installing the CS6 Master Collection, Photoshop appears with an [!] that says "a conflicting or prerelease version of Photoshop CS6 is present on this computer. This must be removed before the installation can continue." I've tried deleting every file I can find with "Photoshop" in it, but to no prevail. What can I do?

I did the same thing. Except I took it a step further and deleted CS5.5 since I was running out of disk space. I've got nothing now but the same error that you have. Oooops! There must be a few lines of code buried in system files that I now need to figure out how to remove. I suspect we are not alone in this manual deletion as it is somewhat common practice on a Mac.

I just figured it out.
Go to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/
You should have a CS6 Uninstaller still there.
I ran it and it removed the remaining pieces. Install proceeded just fine.
Adobe should really update their FAQ about how to remove CS6 to remind people about this alternate location for the uninstaller. The current guidance is of no help to those who have manually removed the Beta (no uninstaller in the application folder) and of no interest to those who are doing things right.

Lybarrondo which FAQ specifically are you referring too? Do you have a URL?

Jeff,
The URL is:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4361731#4361731%234361731
I'd just add a line under:
Navigate to your /Applications/Photoshop CS6 folder
to check Applications/Utilities/...
for the other uninstaller.

Loren

You haven't read that post properly I think or you are new on Mac.
It says
which is correct , the uninstaller is also present in the programs folder , this is not the actual uninstaller but the alias (shortcut) , which is the same thing.
Nowhere it's written to trash the Photoshop , it clearly says to Double click the uninstaller , if you didn't have one then you could have checked but what is written in the FAQ is 100% right.

What If I already deleted the CS6 Uninstaller. How can I find the right files to delete.

You may delete the alias of the uninstaller , but you cannot delete the uninstaller from the Adobe installers folder , it will reappear., try it.
and if in any case you deleted it successfully then its a user error.

I did the same thing, but used the uninstaller located at:
Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/
You should see a CS6 Beta Uninstaller there.
Good luck!

Adobe installer you mean?
If that what you have done then run the cleaner tool ,
www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
it will remove the files and folder related to your software.
