Hello I have created a site using BC for a small online store for one of my clients. I am now ready to select a payment gatesway, but I do not have a clue which one to choose. I want the check out experience to be very simple and not scare away any business for my client due to an over complicated check out process or for my client to incur lots of expense from the payment gatesway. I was going to go with PayPal Standard as it seemed pretty cheap (no monthly costs etc) but I’m worried that the check out process might be frustrating for customers, when using BC with PayPal Standard do customers see when they click ’check out‘? Are they taken to the form ‘Online Shop Purchase Form’ fill all this out and then when they submit this are they taken over to PayPal to give more details? If this is the case I am slightly worried that this might have a negative impact on sales.
So I am now looking at Sage Pay Go which looks good and is simply £20 per month, can anybody explain the check out process when using this particular gateway?
Any advice would be great as this is the last piece of info I need now to cimplete my first online store
thank you
Martin
SagePay - absolutely. I use for client sites. A recent client signed up to Realex and then it turned out it's a non seamless gateway
If you want to look at a SagePay and Paypal integration, you can see the way we did this here
This gives the user the choice of both, although we did have to use a multi-step checkout form and some jiggery pokery to achieve the effect
If you look at www.huntercreate.com, another one we did, this is a Paypal only checkout. It has no effect on sales - but not as user friendly, taken user away from site.

Hello F
I have gone live with my site and have gone with PayPal Standard, I have tried to pretty much copy what you have done with the check out screen prior to being redirected to PayPal, what is not happening through is my client is not getting the delivery address information. The workflow just gives the email of the buyer and what they purchased. Can you shed any light on why the delivery details are not showing?
thanks for any info
