Under V3 I have a new site where they use eternal email service but I want to add users emails into the roles so they will rceive notifications stemming formthe workflows, Under V3 you can't seem to to this. Can someone please point me in the right direction for this. I know there was a notice about the new email and user arrangements but I can't seem to find this.
Thanking you all...
Hi Greg, you can add them the same way. It does not matter if their email is hosted on BC or elsewhere. Create an admin user, then add them to the role.
Users are created in Site Settings --> Admin Users
Roles are managed in Site Settings --> User Roles
The user must be an admin user in order to be added to a role. Regular CRM users cannnot be added to roles.
If you need to add an arbitrary email address to a particular workflow, you can go to the workflow screen under Site Settings --> Manage Workflows --> Select the appropriate workflow --> Add steps to this workflow --> select the workflow step --> click the "Also send workflow notification to" checkbox, then a new box will appear where you can type in additional email addresses to be notified. Seperate each additional email address with a semi-colon. Click Save Step.
Thanks Erik but this is a big change from the past version where you could set up users even with ext email so you could direct workflows to roles with such users. What ew now have is a situation that if yu want to set up any sort of workflow management with external email yuo have to purchase admin usr accounts. That makes no sense at all. Sure I can add these email accounts in the 'also send to' field but that is defeating the whole concept of roles. I feel we have lost out on functionality here.
