Acrobat 9 crashing frequently.

For a little while now Acrobat 9 Pro has been crashing frequently for me. The strange thing is it happens identically on two PCs.


Here are the details -


Acrobat 9 Pro (Happens on versions 9.0 AND 9.5.1, I've tried running patched and unpatched)

Windows XP SP3


I have uninstalled Acrobat 9 through the control panel, and also used the Acrobat cleaner tool, and manually gone through and deleted all the program files for Adobe. After a reinstall it still crashes.


I have tried with and without the only plugin installed (Quite Imposing) and it happens either way.


The crash is the standard Windows XP 'program has stopped responding'. The event logs show


Faulting application name: Acrobat.exe, version:

Any ideas?

    If you do a reinstall again, be sure to also remove the Acrobat folder that was used for the installation. Sometimes things seem to get dumped in there that cause a problem -- sometimes an "addon" I think. I assume the Acrobat cleaner tool does much the same as CCleaner and other registry cleaners, but focuses on Acrobat. I have not tried it.
