Are AIR touch apps compatibles with the Samsung SUR40 ?

May 29, 2012 6:40 AM

We are planning to develop a multitouch AIR application (AIR 3.2 SDK) for our client.

This application will be deployed for an interactive table inside a show room.

We are particularly interested in buying the Samsung SUR40 (os : Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems x64).

Can Adobe confirm that AIR developement is compatible with this table or do we have to use the Microsoft Surface SDK to reach good performances ?

Thanks,

Flo

Far as I know MS Surface dev is only through WPF - pretty sure you cannot run AIR on it.

No more info ? Adobe AIR don't run on Windows® 7 Professional for Embedded Systems x64 ? I'd like to know too if AIR will run on Surface 2.0 (for a simple monotouch app).

Hi I have got the gift that I am able to test on a SUR40, and the answer is YES until you run it in the normal Win7 Mode. I haven`t had time to test the TouchEvents yet, but the little sample app I`ve created was definitely up and running.

    Hi,

I can also confirm that Flash AIR runs perfectly fine on the Samsung SUR40. Although I only got it to run when running in regular win7 mode. Haven't got it running from the Surface mode yet. But even in regular win7 mode you can use flash.ui.Multitouch and get access to up to 50 simultaneous touchpoints.... It's awesome!
