How to customize the ZXP file now with configurator 3

May 31, 2012 7:13 AM

Hello,

I am rebuilding one of my PS extension with Configurator 3 and want to customize the infos delivered in the Adobe Extension Manager, name of the extension name of the author, description, the icon

With configurator 2 it was easy by modifying the .mxi file generated, but now how can I do this. I don't want to have "com.configurator.edgeFX" as name of the extension but "Edge FX", My name instead of "Configurator 3".

Many Thanks.

Sebastien

    Hi,

After you create a panel, Configurator 3 added a "CS Extension Attributes" section for the panel.

This section is listed on the right hand under "Basic Attributes" section.

you can see three properties there:

Name: this value will be shown as the panel name listed under "Window->extensions" menu. Its default value is the same as the "panel name" attribute.

Extension ID: this is the ID that will be shown in "Extenson Manager", its default value is as "com.configurator.$Panelname" if the panel name meets the nameing rule. You can modify it to be another value. But sorry the "space" is not allowed here. This ID will also be the unique ID  shown and used in Agora when you submit your "zxp" into it.

Version: the value will be shown under the "version" field of Extension Manager.

    Wish this can help you.

    Thanks

    Xiaoyan

Configurator team will fix this problem by adding "name" and "description" attributes for user to input.

You will find this in our next dot release.

    Thanks

    Xiaoyan
