Formats - liquid and alternate

Very simple question :

 

Does Liquid layout make sens if we don't use Alternate layout ?

    You'll need to provide some more details. What do you mean by "liquid" and "alternate"? They are terms often used in many different ways. Depending on what you mean my answer will be different :)

    I use "liquid page rules" to refer to what you call liquid layout. You are correct, currently their primary use is to tell Indesign how to create alternate, static, layouts. They are a good way to reduce the work it takes to target multiple size devices.
