Very simple question :

 

Does Liquid layout make sens if we don't use Alternate layout ?

    You'll need to provide some more details. What do you mean by "liquid" and "alternate"? They are terms often used in many different ways. Depending on what you mean my answer will be different :)

    I mean, the Liquid layout rules decided are used to make an Alternate layout (either on the pages or in the dialog box for creating an Alternate layout).

    In a DPS practice, the Liquid layout rules have no other use than creating a Alternate layout, because the folio format is fixed (even is the orientation).

    The liquid layout rules are only an help to work faster if the publication is long enough.

    Am i right ?

    I use "liquid page rules" to refer to what you call liquid layout. You are correct, currently their primary use is to tell Indesign how to create alternate, static, layouts. They are a good way to reduce the work it takes to target multiple size devices.

    Ok thanks, sorry about the wrong naming.

    Alternate layout is the primary and final use (unless I want to change my size page)

    And I will post by the Folio Builder each size with the same folio name so that each device reconize its own.
