I am making a magazine for iPad. I currently have my pages set to iPad 3 size, but some of the articles have long free scrolling pages.
All my pages upload correctly in Folio Builder apart from the long free scrolling pages with a custom length. It says they do not match the folio size.
I am using InDesign CS6 and I'm using alternate layouts for Portrait & Landscape.
Any reason why I can't upload these? I can't find an option to setup custom article sizes. Only a size for the entire magazine.
Hopefully someone can help soon as I have a pretty tight deadline! Thanks.
Thanks Bob. That worked for the page I was working on yesterday, but now I'm getting a different error on another long free scrolling page...
Error I get when trying to upload in Folio Builder is:
Again, I'm using CS6 with Alternate Layouts for Portrait & Landscape versions. I'm initially creating for iPad 3. Document sizes are:
Portrait: W 1536 x 4400 px
Landscape: W 2048 x 3692 px
Hopefully you can point me in the right direction to fix this. Thanks.
Why aren't you using 1024x768 Those sizes are not necessary even for for iPad3. You would set the folio resolution as 1536x2048 in the folio builder, not in the file size.
Alternate layouts aren't working all that well yet. I can't remember the exact problem but I think you have to open the file and use the add command.
I've gone back to separate InDesign documents for Vertical & Horizontal. When you select ADD you can't select free scrolling page. So I guess Alternate layouts really don't work yet.
I've also re-sized to 1024x768. Guess I misunderstood.
Thanks guys. As always you are my heroes!
@Bob - I think that alternate layouts don't work with custom scrolling page using both solutions:
1) add (i don't see the option: Smooth Scrolling) and also
2) import (here i have an error)
My experience with alternate layouts in source file (768x2000 and 1024x2000).
The problem could be that this is not a really alternate layouts because the source file is always portrait (vertical) in both views (change only the width).
I use CS6 last updated.
