Hello, you can convert to CYMK, by going to Image>Mode>CYMK.

Then go to the channels palette, and drag the C and M channels to the trash, you'll then be able to save your image as a multichannel one.

But I'm wondering if duotone would not be an alternative option.

Sounds like a regular CMYK-file with C and M filled white might suffice.

Like Pierre said, duotone might be better, but that depends on what you are aiming for.

Could you please post a screenshot?

How is this going to be printed; using a regular 4 color press (CMYK) or will it be printed with additional spot colors?

If using CMYK press (but just Y and K for this image) use C. Pfaffenbichler's method.

If you need Spot Color channels in addition to regular CYMK (since you are placing the image in another program additional elements may be added using CMYK colors) use Duotone.

If you are not adding additional elements which may be CMYK or Spot colors, why are you placing in another program to print? You could just print directly from Photoshop.

Not sure about Corel Draw, but Illustrator and In Design do NOT support Multichannel images and they cannot be placed.
