What Replaces On Location's Direct To Drive Recording?

We were HORRIFIED to learn that Adobe suddenly dropped On Location from CS6 without notice or a replacement for direct to hard drive recording.

Our workflow and studios require On Location's direct to drive recording and monitoring facilities.

Exactly what does Adobe think we should do?

Fortunately we still have CS5.0 and CS5.5 Master Collection discs!  I'm not enthusiastic about moving to CS6 due to this major deficiency.

Put On Location in Premier or Prelude, don't yank this important functionality from your loyal users without notice.

Question: does anyone have an answer to this? This is crazy. I uninstall, upgrade, and now have to go back to a previous version which will certainly break as we move forward. Really? Really?

I agree that this is total crap.  I signed up for the CS6 Master Collection subscription, and one of the most useful tools for me was OnLocation.  Prelude doesn't replace it at all.  Does anyone know a different software solution that is similar to OnLocation?

The answer is: no. Nothing replaces the function of OnLocation. If you upgrade to CS6, and you want the recording features of OnLocation, you must keep the cr5 (or 4 etc) version. Take your medicine and move on (he says to himself, trying to smile)...
