I have lost my illustrator icons on files in explorer and they won't load up.

Hi

 

I have CS4 and Windows 7.

 

All has been well for ages but yesterday all my illustrator files are displaying the wrong icon on explorer.  When double clicking they won't open although if I open Illustrator first I can open from there.

 

Any advice on how to correct?

    Did you run any system updates or some such thing? Did you instal lanotehr app? Is your virus scanner behaving? Something simply messed with your file associations, which you can of course fix manually, but without knowing the cause for the problem it may simply return when some clever mechanism of a program or Windows' own system restore rolls things back...
