It requires user action. You can either download as Johannes mentioned or you can get the update via AAM (Adobe Application Manager). Both are manual actions, the panel does not auto update itself...yet...
Be sure to update DPS for InDesign CS6 through the Application Manager. There currently is no valid link to the CS6 Dektop Tools on the DPS downloads page.
