Fonts not displaying correctly

Jun 21, 2012 2:39 PM

I have Acrobat 9.5.1, and recently the text within the vast majority of documents I'm trying to display on screen, from a variety of different sources, just look awful.. as if it's substituting some 1980s pixellated non-scalable screen font.  I've not had this problem before, since pdfs usually display pretty accurately and zoom nicely, so I can't believe that somehow suddenly I'm viewing lots of pdfs that are using non-standard fonts that aren't embedded.  It's just ordinary stuff I'm viewing, like instruction manuals and so on.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Try this:

    Open Acrobat

    Edit ->Preferences->Page Display

    Change the option under Smooth Text Drop-down.

    Generally re-launch is not required but you can surely try.

    Hi there! is it working now? hope this helps: Could you have set the font to something small in your browser settings by mistake? If you are using Firefox, can you try selecting View → Zoom → Reset in the toolbar?
