Adobe issues With Windows XP and IE 8

I have Windows XP SP3. I also have IE 8. Anytime I wanted to read a PDF file within IE, it crashes and get Website restore error. I also unistalled Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.3 and reinstalled and get the same error message. I also can not download an attached PDF doc. When I click to download it, normally you get the time remaining et al and it shows totally blank.

    I have exact same problem and set-up, except no reader.  Let me know if you find fix, I'll do same.

     

    Using Acrobat 10.1.3,  Very SLOW download if they do complete.
