Changing dates

Jul 5, 2012 11:49 PM

I am using PSE 6. I have just come back from a trip and realised that my camera was set for 2011 instead of 2012. Is there a batch method of changing the year of ca 500 pictures without changing the specific time the pictures were taken so that I can import the pictures correctly into PSE's timeline? Using the command Adjust Time and Date can change the year but it also removes the time the pictures were taken.

If the files are JPG, highlight them in Windows Explorer, right-click and select "Properties".  On the "Details" tab you can change the "Date taken" value in the "Origins" section.

You can adjust using the option 'Shift to new starting date and time'

Find the oldest file, calculate the right starting year, month and day, select all pictures with the same date shift, this will change the first file and the following accordingly. I have done this many times.
