Making changes to my CSS

Jul 15, 2012 9:41 AM

I am having a huge brain fart.  I had a guy design my website and then he moved.  Before he moved he showed me how to make updates such as the copyright notice to my pages using the (I thought) master.dwt.  I have noticed most of my pages using the "form" no longer have my copyright notice on them.  How do I make changes to the master file and then apply them to the individual pages?  My site is live so I don't want to do something wrong that will affect the site operations.  I have backups of my site but am afraid to screw it up.

I am using Dreamweaver 8.0 and my site is Pro Rodeo Pix dot com.

Thanks,

Al

Is your master.dwt file inside a Templates folder in your local site?

    C:\yourSiteName

         Templates

              master.dwt

DW requires that .dwt files be inside the Templates folder, otherwise they don't work.

    Hi Al -

    There were important updates to version 8.0,  i.e.versions 8.0.1 & 8.0.2.

    Did you install these?

This page may help you understand the page updating concept with templates:
