Cannot edit/save changes to the config.xml

Jul 16, 2012 2:39 PM

Following the instructions in:

Flash Media Server 4.5 Developer's Guide / Getting started streaming media / Publish and play a single live stream over HTTP

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd6 09-52e437a812a3725dfa0-8000.html

I am trying to edit the config.xml file to use absolute time.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2\Conf\config.xml

I cannot get around the Acess Denied problem when I try to save the file.  I am on a Windows 7 Home Premium laptop, 64-bit.  FMLE is not running.  It is closed.  All other programs are also closed.  My login is the Administrator.

Could this possibly be a firewall issue?  I am running Norton 360.

Thanks.

Open it up in Notepad (or whatever program you're using) as Administrator.

The easy way to do this: click on Start, All Programs, Accessories. Then right-click on Notepad and click on "Run as administrator."
