Approximate Text Searching?

I've got a 1,000 page document that is almost 90 years old. I scanned it in at 600 dpi, and ran it through Finereader's OCR engine. Because the document was created with a typewriter, even at a high dpi it is still not 100% accurate. Is it possible to do approximate searches in Acrobat X Pro? I tried the stemming feature, but even with words I knew were in there, stemming search didn't find them. For instance if I were looking for the word "table", I typed in "tab" - no results.
