The color value of spot colors cannot be adjusted via javascript.

    do you have a specific scenario you're having problems with?

     

    this works

    app.activeDocument.pathItems[0].fillColor.spot.color.cyan = 100;

    Existing spot color that is. I have a spot color that is named "colorA" and is colored red. I want to edit it via script to make it yellow while keeping it a spot color. Not possible.

    try this for rgb

    app.activeDocument.swatches["colorA"].color.spot.color.green=255;

     

     

    or this if your color mode is cmyk 

    app.activeDocument.swatches["colorA"].color.spot.color.magenta=0;

    And there you solved it. .color.spot.color Thank you very much. I was doing just .color which of course completely messed up Illustrator.

     

    Now I wish I could change the title of the post. That's what I get for trusting the word of the intarweb (after searching I read this was impossible).

     

    Either way, hope this helps somebody else searching.
