Strange Error with DPX Files

Hey I get a strange Error when trying to import some of my DPX files. After effects CS 6 says: the chosen file cannot be read as a Cineon FIDO or SMPTE DPX. Photoshop CS6 says the format is not recognized.

 

But those files work like a charm on another machine using CS4...

 

If that wasn't strange enough... a backup of those files with exact the same size works on my machine with cs6... but the backup has to go on the way to a client now.

 

what can i do, any ideas?
