Customize System Generated Alerts

Hello,

 

Can I change System generated alert messages? I have multilingual site and few alerts are coming as per the site setting. I need to customize those messages.

 

Example: Click on my "Add to Shopping Cart" button, If the quantity exceeds from the maximum quantitiy which is specified in the product setting then alert message is coming like "ERROR: Quantity entered is too large, please enter a smaller quantity." Please provide me assistence.
