Adobe Reader 9 that came with my laptop has failed and I keep getting errors what can I do?

Since you say it came with your laptop, it is safe to assume you have a Windows computer. I would recommend removing Reader 9, running the Acrobat/Reader cleanup script, then install Reader X which is much more secure than 9.
