Scrolling very jerky in CS6 on Mac

Jul 21, 2012 7:05 PM

Tags: #scrolling #bridge

I'm running Bridge CS6 ver. 5.0.0.399 on a MBP with OS X 10.7.4

In earlier versions of Bridge (before CS6) when scrolling in the Folders Panel browser with either a magic mouse or the trackpad (not using the scroll bars) the scrolling was very smoth, moving a line at a time. Now it jumps a seemingly randomly number of lines, making it nearly impossible to accurately scroll to where you need to go without using the scroll bars. Scrolling of actual images within the Content Panel works great. This really needs to be fixed, unless there's an option I missed?

Thanks.

Not a mac guy, but this function should be governed by the OS and mouse software.  Might try a wired mouse and see it the problem is solved.

    With computers who knows.

I have seen several posts, at least in windows, were a wireless mouse can cause muliple problems, and work fine in other applications.  So maybe the mouse driver has conflicts with Bridge.  Only what I know to check that is to try a wrired mouse as it is the simplist.

Was hoping a Mac guy would peek in with an opinion.

If you go back to a previous version of Bridge when scrolling was smooth, is it still that way?  Or has that changed also?

Is 10.7.4 called Mountain Lion?  There have been a number of posts here and on Photoshop forum of conficts in how program is running.

I had abstained from jumping in because I don't use either a Magic Mouse nor the MacBook's track pad, nor am I running Lion.  I use a wired Apple keyboard and Apple mouse.  No jumpiness here.

Now that AllisonGail reports the same issue with a wire mouse, I'm in a position to report that I don't see the scrolling issue, but then I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Nope, 10.7.x is LionMountain Lion is 10.8.x and it was just released two days ago, so it's at 10.8.0.

If you disregard the number 10 in front of the first dot. Panther was OS X 3, Tiger was 4, Leopard was 5, Snow Leopard was 6, Lion was 7 and Mountain Lion is 8 (released July 25 of this year).  The best three are highlighted in color.

The first three, Cheetah (10.0), Puma (10.1) and Jaguar (10.2) were plain bad.  I'm not getting anywhere near either of the lions either.

As far as functionality, stability and speed, Tiger is the best OS X for a Power Mac and Snow Leopard the best for an Intel Mac.

Now the names of all Big Cats have been used, even in the more expanded definition of the term.

Read this article, i have problems specially with audition and premiere but it seems to be adobe who have the problems and not Apple.

    http://www.pulptopixels.com/2011/05/11/make-your-magic-mouse-play-nice -with-adobe-apps/

Try other apps, i can scroll px by px in opera but not in photoshop.

    i will try this
