White lines in InDesign CS6

Jul 24, 2012 6:50 PM

I'm using ID CS6 on a mac with OS 10.7.4 (Lion). I want to draw a white line. I'm using either the pen tool or the line tool and clicking on the "paper" swatch in the swatches palette to color the stroke white. The line immediately disappears. It doesn't matter how thick I make the line. If I click on a text box, choose "stroke" and "paper" for the stroke color, I get a white line around the text box. Picking other colors creates a visible line with the chosen stroke color. Only the "paper" swatch makes my stroke disappear.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels visible?

Is there a background the line can contrast against, might the Line be set to overprint, …?

Finding the cause for an issue oneself is probably a better learning experience anyway.
