Save text component text property somewhere different

Jul 25, 2012 3:36 AM

I am using a text component to create a custom left navigation for a small group of pages (20 in total). The navigation would be very difficult to create using a standard "navigation" component as it contains a mixture of links and anchors.

I want to store the text property from the text component somewhere central e.g. perhaps on a static page node or in the design folder. Currently the text property component is set to name= ./text, how do I change this to save it somwhere else?

Also, is this good practice or should I use a reference component instead?

Best practice would be to use a reference component if you want to store the text in a central location. Trying to change the text property in the dialog to point to some central location is not really supported very well.
