Adobe CS5 upgrading

I have Adbove CS5. How do I upgrade to CS5.5?

Do I have to purchase or is it a free download to upgrade?

    You would have to purchase it, and that's going to be difficult now that CS6 is out, but you may still find some old stock at places like Amazon. Be wary of online auctions -- upgrade licenses cannot be transferred without including all of theversions in the upgrade chain, which many users don't realize, and you could easily wind up with software you cannot register or activate.
