Flash Player won't install

M.S.I.E. version 9, Windows Vista Home Prem., H.P. 32 Bit

"A Newer Version Already Is Installed"

Grey box indicates neither a version or error code, empty.

Disabled ActiveX Filtering.

Had Flash Player (latest version I Believe).

Think trouble came upon loading trial of Avast AntiVirus. In Updating, it installed Google Chrome without my consent ! Deleted all files. I was trying to identify MpSigStub.exe as malicous or not.
