Importing during Build?

Aug 6, 2012 7:03 PM

So here's an odd one.

I built a BD some time ago, and needed to change a few things in the video.  So I made the changes in PP and exported out new assets.  I made sure to use different file names so Encore wouldn't get confused.

Opening Encore, I told it the now missing old files were offline.  I then did a Replace Asset with the new files.  They seemed to come in just fine.  They show up correctly as Do Not Transcode.  I can see the video and hear the sound while working.  The preview plays just fine.  When I Check Project, there are no errors.  (However, I did notice one odd thing.  There were no I-frame marks in the timeline.  This made it difficult to adjust the markers to the new version.)

When trying to build either a BD, an Image or a Folder, Encore then starts doing it's thing, but one strange new step in the process is to "Import" the new version of the video.  Huh?  The video is already imported.  I can see it in the timeline.  I can play just fine.  I can Preview it without issue.  If it's not already imported, then where the hell is all that playback coming from?  And since it is already imported, why is Encore trying to "import" it again when I build?

The upshot to all this is that the build fails immediately after the "import".  I get an error stating: Blu-ray Object: "Wedding", Export file not found

Anyone ever see this, or know what it might mean?

I wonder if the making offline before replacing may complicate this? Why not just replace without going offline.

I find Encore very sensative to changes.

When Encore is acting funny I always start over by building a new project.

I do not even bother to do damage controle.

I once had the same error message, cleared cash and the rest.

Never did any good. Rebuild the project and off it went.
